Injury Reporting Policy

How County Squad Tracker handles health and availability information about professional footballers.

County Squad Tracker records injury information only for the purpose of explaining football availability. It is an unofficial reference site and does not seek or publish private medical records.

What can be published

An injury or recovery update must have been disclosed publicly by the player, Stockport County, a named club representative or another identifiable reliable source. Primary evidence from the player, Head Coach, club staff, official club channels or club commentary is preferred. Reliable media reporting can support an entry when it clearly attributes the information. Unattributed rumours, messageboard claims and speculation are not enough to publish a specific injury.

The tracker records only the level of medical detail that was made public and is relevant to selection or playing availability.

What CST will not infer

An unexplained absence is not treated as a diagnosis. CST does not infer surgery, treatment, severity or an exact return date from general comments. Transfer or squad-status uncertainty is not treated as evidence that a player has recovered.

Return estimates

Prognoses are presented with the precision of the source: for example a date range, a month or a part of the season. When CST converts a stated duration into a reader-friendly date window, it is labelled Based on club estimate rather than presented as an official return date.

Sources and corrections

Meaningful injury updates retain their source, date and attribution. Newer statements update the current position without deleting earlier evidence. If a source is later shown to be inaccurate, CST can correct the public wording while retaining an internal editorial note explaining the change.

Admin editorial test

Before a medical availability update is saved, the editor confirms four points: it was publicly disclosed; the source is named or otherwise attributable and reliable; the wording goes no further than the source; and the information is relevant to football availability.
